I am curious to know,
1. if these conditions were conveyed before getting married to the Groom and the Groom's family
2. Are the same chores equally being shared by the wife's, father and mother at her home, prior to her marriage?
I'm sorry if I am indulging in unfair profiling here, Jack, but I am assuming that you are not too familiar with the Indian familial structure (not that there is any one unique structure anyway!) So I'm going to try answering these questions in good faith: 1. I don't know if being treated as an equal partner needs to be a pre-condition that a woman should have to lay down as a special condition before marriage. On the contrary, if a woman is going to be treated this badly, the onus should be on the groom's side to reveal these expectations before the nuptials. 2. I can't speak for all the women here but I also don't think that it is relevant. If women have been ill-treated for centuries in their own homes then that is cause to correct this mistake now, not an excuse to perpetuate it further.

Hope this helps.
What conditions you mean? To treat the female partner as a human being and not some goddess who doesnтАЩt get tired?
