One that hits me every time. When it’s a boy, the elders says congratulations! When it’s a girl that badhai changes to “what matters is that the child is healthy”... as if it is a consolation prize
I always wonder why the chromosome information is not publicized much. I understand that this is not a great argument to put it on men but if they or their families blame women for producing a female offspring, this information could very well be used (not sure if it will help women but this needs to be common knowledge in every place where they feel women to be "responsible" for it). I was looking forward to watching Jayeshbhai Jordaar because of the topic but I was surprised that they didn't mention this anywhere even though there were multiple opportunities to do the same.
Congratulations on the small win. Way to go Mahima <3 here's hoping that you will inspire and awaken a lot many people and we start to act on bringing those big changes, one step at a time atleast. 🙂
