Just read this, my blood's boiling same way it does whenever I read the news which seem to have atleast one every day. Need to do something about this, don't know what yet but someday. I'm a big fan and find your articles are always spot on.

“Why are you wearing shorts” at home translates into “Why was the prosecutrix drinking alcohol” in the court. So simple that we all miss observing this. Fabulous writing on something for which all of us should hang our heads in shame. More importantly, I feel there should be dialogue on this part of your post - Even if this is true, how is it relevant to the question 'Did Tejpal rape her that night'? Just because someone is/was/will be sexually active, does that make her/him lose all their agency to their own body/sphere of existence? This kind of bullshit has pissed me so much that I could write a book on it. Thank you for picking this up Mahima.

I hope there is an appeal, I hope Tarun Tejpal is served justice. I hope RS remains sane; It is super difficult for her though. Thank you for writing this. Thank you Mahima.

I love your writing. Comparing the court proceedings and Koffee with Karan is just briliant!!!

Lovely writing! The insides of me feel horrible being part of the tribe of men in India. Shocking the see the Supreme Court deliver this verdict. Guess it's a reflection of the sad state of offers in our society (the judiciary reflects contemporary societal thinking unfortunately). I hope we turn the corner, this is bad dark, depressing and frustrating

Thank you Ron! This judgment was actually passed by the Goa sessions court. It has gone for appeal to the Bombay High court next and hopefully they'll give the woman a fairer trial 🤞🏼
